On electric bikes to the Astuvansalmi rock paintings
Accommodation-bike package: 2 nights in farmhouse accommodation, breakfasts, sauna, electric bicycle (1 day) for a selfguided tour to the rock paintings of Astuvansalmi 5-6 hours, incl. cycling 25 km/way, hiking 1 hour/way.
Cycle and hike through the history of Astuvansalmi
At the beginning of the trip, you can stop for a while at the ruins of Brahelinna, an ancient castle mansion. Along the way, you’ll find the Pien-Toijola Farm Museum, where you can get a sense of the peasant idyll of yesteryear in the courtyard. On a gentle path you approach the rock paintings of Astuvansalmi. You follow the forest path and see the prehistoric rock paintings. The paintings depict boats, deer and hunters in ancient times. On the way back, you can take a dip in the waves of Lake Saimaa at Uikkala beach in Ristiina. Finally, the warm waters of the Tuukkala farm’s outdoor sauna will seal the experience.

Explore the geological sites of Saimaa Geopark easily by e-bike.
Basic fitness is enough, but there are differences in altitude.
Please bring your own weatherproof clothing and a water bottle, shoes suitable for hiking.
